Job Description:

A Distribution Center's success in processing Inbound and/or Outbound freight hinges on the Material Handler's ability to undertake various roles. Through their efforts, they help to guarantee timely, accurate, and safe processing of freight.

Major Activities:

• The Distribution Center is responsible for fulfilling orders from retail stores and other Distribution Centers. Related job roles that can be assigned include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and specialized positions like Inventory Control that need additional training. Performing the work tasks might entail the use of manual or powered industrial machinery and RF guns.
• Keep a production log that registers any changes made to assignments, unscheduled interruptions to work, and any meetings held in order to preserve the authenticity of productivity records.

• Performs other duties assigned in accordance with the business needs.

• Basic computer skills for certain roles

• Possessing the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, is necessary for success in many positions
• Teachers must be proficient in basic math to provide accurate grades, administer tests and calculate student progress accurately
• A high level of detail orientation coupled with exceptional record-keeping skills are essential attributes in certain positions
• Clear and concise communication can help individuals avoid misunderstandings and confusion, leading to better outcomes and relationships

Preferred Education:

• A credential equivalent to a high school education is strongly preferred

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires:

• It would be advantageous for applicants to have experience using either manual or powered industrial equipment
• Those who have worked in production facilities will have an edge in this role, as it demands a foundational knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly lifting and transporting products that range in weight from 5 to 60 pounds
• Consistent use of push-and-pull movements to transport equipment and materials
• Recurrent standing required when handling powered equipment and performing assigned duties
• Being frequently mobile on one's feet, primarily through walking within the warehouse space
• Regularly partaking in activities that involve bending, crouching, and stretching to maintain physical health
• Monotonous movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers that can lead to fatigue or pain

Work Environment:

• Exposure to extreme temperatures can be influenced by external climate patterns and how close individuals are to exit routes and dock doors
• The DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment typically generate a moderate amount of noise
• Utilizing powered industrial equipment may produce occasional vibrations
• Risk of inhaling harmful chemicals and airborne contaminants
